A diet for an old person
Food rules for old people living in a community are characterised by food with low chol’esterol, low animal fats and low animal proteins. What is important for old people is a higher consumption of vegetable fats, like for example fruit, vegetables, legumes and fibres. The diet described is for a person over 75 years old, still self-sufficient and still having a regular physical activity. Therefore, the calories needed by his or her body are more or less 1900.
